Hands-God's Perfect Creation
But now, O Lord, You are our Father,
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all of us are the work of Your hand.
Isaiah 64:8
I've always been fascinated by hands. I find it interesting, how easy it is to recall someones hands in your mind. Surely, God had a reason for this unique ability. Even to this day, I can recall my grandparents hands, or the hands of best friends from high school. Hands are the first things that we touch, when we enter this world. Someone, literally caught us, in their hands. They stroke lovers, hold babies, comfort children, plant crops, cook meals, make clothes, bind wounds, and save lives. Hands are intrinsically complex in their design and science has been unable to replicate their fine motor detail. They can do so much good, and yet great harm. For those who've been hurt by the hands of someone, I feel true compassion and sorrow. Our hands have been created to be the hands of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are to do his work on Earth, with our hands. May our hands always bring comfort and healing to those we love and meet.
In his hands,
Lisa
